The Midlands Air Ambulance Sky Champs education programme provides fun educational resources for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students in reading, writing, maths and creative skills, such as colouring sheets and word searches.
Midlands Air Ambulance is committed to supporting young people’s educational development.
Unfortunately they airlift a child every other day, which is why they are here to help youngsters better understand their vital lifesaving service and the importance of staying safe.
School age children are our future paramedics, pilots and fundraisers, and engaging them with the charity helps to safeguard the future of the service.
The Midlands Air Ambulance education programme works in partnership with longstanding corporate partner, M6toll.
Two educational training packs (EYFS & Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2) are available and have been designed in line with the National Curriculum. You can request a pack by filling in the form here.
The online learning portal is an interactive way to engage students using educational resources, designed in line with the National Curriculum and will also introduce them to the important work of a local lifesaving charity. Register your interest by visiting the Sky Champs page and filling out the form.
Training modules and presentations (including Helipod, a mobile demonstration helicopter shell) are also available.
While it is not compulsory, the charity does encourage schools and colleges who request a visit, to undertake a little fundraising for the charity.
Each critically important air ambulance mission costs the charity £2,500, which is entirely funded by charitable donations from the general public and local businesses.
If you are a teacher, parent or child and would like to find out more, please contact the charity here.
